APC summary

JAEP Health Sciences is an Open Access journal. The Article Processing Charge (APC) is to support the costs associated with editorial processing, peer review management, copyediting, typesetting, online hosting, and long-term archiving. Authors from eligible institutions or low-income countries may qualify for discounts or full waivers. Payment is requested only after the manuscript has been accepted for publication. Therefore, APCs are calculated based on the date of article acceptance, not the submission date.

JAEP Health Sciences may implement a tiered pricing model based on the author’s country of residence, in line with regional economic classifications. This approach promotes equity and encourages participation from researchers in low- and middle-income countries. The following tables provides further details on the APC:

Waivers and Discounts

JAEP Health Sciences is committed to promoting equitable access to scientific publishing. We consider requests for APC waivers or discounts on a case-by-case basis, particularly for:

• Authors from low-income or lower-middle-income countries,

• Researchers without institutional or grant funding.

Waiver or discount requests must be made at the time of manuscript submission. Requests submitted during peer review or after acceptance will not be considered.

Open Access Funding Support

Authors are encouraged to consult their institutions or funding bodies for support in covering APCs. Many research funders and universities maintain open access publishing agreements or funds to assist authors.
