Biography:

Dr. Charles Nsanzabera is a public health professional with extensive experience in healthcare practice, research, and academic mentorship. He holds a PhD in Public Health from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and a Master’s degree in Public Health/Global Health from Mount Kenya University, with earlier training in clinical medicine and general nursing. A Harvard-certified expert in Global Health Improvement in Quality and Safety from Harvard University, he has over a decade of experience as an occupational clinic manager at Bralirwa PLC, part of Heineken. Dr. Nsanzabera has contributed to numerous national and international public health initiatives in Rwanda, including research collaborations with UNICEF and the Rwanda Biomedical Centre. He has authored more than 50 scientific publications across areas such as non-communicable diseases, malaria, malnutrition, maternal and child health, and HIV, and has supervised numerous Master’s and PhD research projects. As Chief Editor of JAEP Health Sciences and international research coordinator at the African Institute of Research for Public Health and Development, he is committed to strengthening research capacity and advancing evidence-based public health knowledge to improve health outcomes in Africa.

Professor Kenneth Yongabi Anchang, titular distinguished professor in Public health, Infectiology and Phyto-biotechnology, with over 200 scientific publications, more than a 150 conference papers and proceedings, 6 books, a number of monographs, more than 10 scholarly book chapters, several technical papers, several scientific exhibitions posters, workshops, consultancies including consultancy work with WHO Health Promotion Department UNDP,UNESCO, Professor Yongabi has to his credit, more than 120 invited keynote lectures and counting at several International, national and regional meetings with reviews for several local and international journals of health sciences. Prof Yongabi’s research covers the African public health systems where he has demonstrated through pilot projects the limino-cultural public health reality required for Africa, Afro-centric health literacy to address health inequalities in Africa, contextual clinical infectiology and diagnostic techniques built on the philosophy of Maurice King- a renowned Physician who opined that health care practice and diagnosis of diseases within African population should be contextualized within the ambit of the available resources vis-a vis the epidemiological picture. Biography:

Dr. Yvonne Kasine, PhD, RN, is a registered nurse in Ontario, Canada. She received a Bachelor of Nursing Education from the University of Rwanda and a Master of Science in Nursing and a PhD in Nursing from Western University, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Kasine’s nursing expertise includes community and home care nursing, nursing education, and nursing research. Guided by intersectional and health equity principles, her research examines how continuing professional development and mentorship for nurses and midwives influence maternal and neonatal health outcomes, particularly in resource-limited settings. Dr. Kasine collaborates with international researchers exploring adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health and rights services in low- and middle-income countries. She is also leading an interdisciplinary team to conduct a community-based participatory action project exploring strategies used by Black parents, guardians, and caregivers to help keep their adolescents safe online and on social media platforms.

Biography:

Kindie is a researcher with expertise in statistical modeling, and machine learning applications in health research. His research focuses on risk prediction modeling, survey data analysis, and advanced statistical methods including Bayesian modeling, and individual patient data meta-analysis. Biography:

Dr. Moses Gitonga, PhD, is the Director of the Center for Health Research & Innovation (CHeRi) and a Senior Lecturer and Epidemiologist at the School of Health Sciences, Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) in Nyeri, Kenya. He holds a PhD in Epidemiology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. His expertise spans epidemiology, population health, and the control of both communicable and non-communicable diseases. Dr. Gitonga's research program is primarily focused on chronic disease management in Kenya, investigating prevalence, care strategies, and primordial prevention. He also has strong research interests in maternal and child health, HIV, and sexual health, with a particular emphasis on addressing healthcare access barriers and understanding risk factors among diverse populations, including university students. Dr. Gitonga has made significant contributions to public health, evidenced by his recent publications in peer-reviewed journals. His work explores critical areas such as the barriers and facilitators to cervical cancer screening, sex differences in cardiovascular risk profiles, and predictors of survival for prostate cancer patients in Kenya. Through his research and leadership at CHeRi, he is actively working to enhance health service access and tackle health disparities in the Kenya and beyond.

In 2016, he transitioned to a full-time role as an assistant lecturer and lab analyst in the Molecular Biology Laboratory within the same department, and in 2024, he was promoted to the position of lecturer. He holds a PhD in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from the Pan African University - Institute of Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI) and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). Dr. Joseph has acquired various professional and short course certifications, including a short course in Molecular Data for Infectious Diseases (MID) from the Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM), Belgium; RS ISO/IEC 17025:2005 General Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories; ISO 15189:2012 Medical Laboratories - Requirements for Quality and Competence; ISO/IEC 17043:2010 Accredited Proficiency Testing Program; JUNCAO Technology (Mushroom Culture and Production); Laboratory Management; and Laboratory Animal Use and Handling, among others. Biography:

Dr. Tsehayneh Geremew is an Assistant Professor of Food Science and Nutrition and Vice Director of the Institute of Biotechnology at the University of Gondar, Ethiopia. He earned his PhD in Food Science and Nutrition from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Kenya in 2022 under the DAAD/RUFORUM scholarship. He also holds an MSc in Microbiology from Haramaya University (2014) and a BSc in Applied Biology from the University of Gondar (2010). His PhD research focused on the nutritional quality of complementary foods developed from selected cereals and legumes cultivated in Gondar Province, Ethiopia. Dr. Cassien Habyarimana is a mathematician and statistician with over 10 years of university teaching and research experience. Dr. Habyarimana currently serves as a Lecturer at the University of Rwanda and as a Research Assistant at the African Institute of Mathematical Sciences – Research and Innovation Centre (AIMS-RIC), Rwanda. Associate Prof. Adeniyi Olusegun Oyeyemi is an Epidemiologist and Global Health Specialist with extensive experience in infectious disease control, health systems strengthening, and program implementation across Africa. He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Pharmacology and Toxicology, a Master of Public Health (MPH) in, and a PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. His doctoral research focused on correlating anti-tuberculosis drug concentrations with clinical outcomes among TB–HIV co-infected patients. Adeniyi has contributed to the design, implementation, and evaluation of several international public health initiatives supported by global development partners. His work focuses on strengthening health systems, improving disease prevention strategies, and advancing evidence-based public health interventions. His research and professional interests include tuberculosis control, antimicrobial resistance, implementation science, health policy, and strengthening research capacity in low- and middle-income countries.

She has served as a Team Lead for the Tuberculosis Private Sector component of the USAID TB-LON3 project after COVID-19 and the Launch of the first indigenous, low osmolality Zinc sulphate tablets and oral rehydration salts (ORS) project in Nigeria. Dr. Blessings H. Likoswe is a public health and nutrition specialist with over a decade of experience in research, policy, and program implementation. She holds a PhD in Public Health from the University of Malawi (College of Medicine), a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Rural Development from Ghent University, Belgium, and a Bachelor’s degree in Global Nutrition and Health from VIA University College, Denmark. Her work focuses on generating and translating evidence to improve health outcomes, with strong expertise in quantitative methods and experience in qualitative research. She has authored several peer-reviewed publications with international citations, contributing to evidence-based practice in nutrition and public health. She has provided technical support to organizations including UNICEF, the Emergency Nutrition Network, the World Health Organization, and the Tackling Deadly Diseases in Africa Programme (TDDAP 2). Her areas of expertise include public health security, nutrition, vaccine-preventable diseases, and health systems strengthening, with strengths in data analysis, scientific writing, and stakeholder engagement. He currently serves as the Dean of Prince Medical College, Sikar, Rajasthan, India, and holds several academic and advisory roles, including Professor and Head of Community Medicine at multiple medical institutions in India. With extensive experience in medical education, public health policy, and global health training, Dr. Awate has contributed significantly to strengthening health systems and public health capacity across different countries. Her research interests include AMR surveillance, molecular characterization of bacterial pathogens, and strengthening evidence-based responses to infectious disease threats. He is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Public Health and Hygiene, University of Buea, where he is also engaged as a student and Young Researcher. Ernest has over 10 years of experience in medical laboratory practice with the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services (CBCHS), where he contributed to diagnostic services, malaria research coordination, and laboratory capacity strengthening. He also worked with the National Institute of Statistics Cameroon as a Health Advisor/Counsellor and Data Enumerator for the CAMPHIA 2024 Project, supporting national HIV survey data collection, community counseling, and field data quality assurance. He is a 2025 World Health Organization (WHO) Young Researchers Research Grant recipient and currently serves as the South West Regional Project Coordinator for the Newborn Sickle Cell Screening Project with the Sickle Cell International Foundation Cameroon.
